Indie rock band Bury hopes to hit the mainstream with their debut single

An indie rock band is preparing to release their first single in time for the New Year.

After months of practicing and rehearsing hard to hone their musical skills, The Safe will release ‘Insomnia’ on December 31st on Spotify, iTunes, Youtube and Soundcloud.

Comprised of Jamie Stinton on vocals, Tom Jackson on drums and Corey Maurizi-McLean, they cite Stereophonics, Arctic Monkeys, ACDC, Bon Jovi and Guns ‘n’ Roses among their biggest influences.

Jamie says the single is about love, heartbreak and sanity, telling the story of a couple breaking up from an outside perspective.

The single was recorded at Redwall Studios in Bury for six months, which proved to be an arduous process for the band.

Jamie said, “My inspiration for creating this band just came from watching a lot of music live and wanting a bit of that buzz for myself.

“As cliché as it sounds, it became my dream to start doing this, to bring people together and make them happy.

“So far we’ve done about 10-15 concerts and the feeling you get when you’ve done one is huge and overwhelming – the buzz and adrenaline, especially after you’ve had a few drinks, can’t be beat.

“When we record in the studio, it’s also a great feeling to listen because everything is linked.

He added, “Right now we’re going through a lot of stress and nerves about the song, but we hope people like it because we’ve worked so hard on it.”

“No matter what you like, we hope you find something to enjoy in our music, because we have such an eclectic range of influences.

The group formed in early 2020 after Jamie posted on Facebook, asking for friends who wanted to join a group, after being inspired by seeing Stereophonics live on TV.

From December 31, “Insomnia” will be available to stream on all major music platforms.
