Machine Gun Kelly Praises Rock Music – “Sounds Alive To Me”

On Sunday, November 21, the polarizing yet award-winning pop-punk rock star Machine Gun Kelly won the American Music Award for Favorite Rock Artist at the 2021 AMAs.

He beat Foo Fighters, Glass Animals and All Time Low for the prize.

In his acceptance speech, MGK, who seems to be making the headlines, encouraged the younger generation, going so far as to say that rock and roll is not dead, as some are claiming. In fact, he seems to be thriving.

“To all budding musicians, whoever wants to play an instrument, wants to rap, wants to sing,” MGK said. “Not just rock artists, but all artists who are rock stars. I read a headline that said the age of the rock star is dead, ”he added, before looking at himself from top to bottom. “But it looks pretty alive to me.”

The former rapper turned rocker took his daughter, Casie Colson Baker, with him to the awards ceremony. E! News tweeted a few photos of the two, saying: “We promise MGK and her daughter are the cutest ever #AMA duo you’ll see all night.

MGK made waves throughout 2021, earning both praise and derision, which equates to notoriety. He won a VMA for his song “My Ex’s Best Friend” and fought with Conor McGregor the same night.

He also has a very public relationship with actress Megan Fox, whom MGK has said love saved his life.

Machine Gun Kelly has also been in a very public feud with Slipknot frontman Corey Taylor, which resulted in Kelly getting booed and fighting with fans at a festival over the summer.
