The Winterland Music Festival is a long drive from Miami to Jacksonville, so South Florida rockers Las Nubes (pronounced as “Loss-Nü-Bess”) will take a break and headline a free show in Tampa. Friday, February 25.

A show that was scheduled to take place at the Hub will now be hosted by The Bricks at 1327 E 7th Ave. in Ybor City. Emo Night headliners usually start around midnight, so make sure you’re well and prepared before ‘lo-fi, fuzz-loving’ Las Nubes take to the stage.

Emo Night Tampa usually has a DJ set before or after the bands, but this month’s install will be live music only, with support from St. Pete’s psychedelic rockers Liquid Pennies and the “genderless” duo. newly formed Blonde Gentlemen.

Liquid Pennies have released their full LP distant dawn last year, while Blonde Gentlemen have released a slew of singles over the past two years, including their most recent song “Simulator”, a drum-heavy electronic-indie track.

Our neighbor to the south is no stranger to Tampa Bay, as Las Nubes played various venues in the area, including Lucky You Tattoo and Crowbar in 2019 – the same year the shredders performed “I Wanna Be Your Dog” from ‘Iggy Pop on stage with him in Miami (which can be seen at 1:06:28 of this YouTube video.)

Other dates for Las Nubes’ upcoming Florida mini-tour include Orlando on Feb. 24 and Tallahassee on Feb. 26.

This month’s Emo Party is free – as always – and 21+ due to the bar’s location. For more in the lead up to the show, follow Emo Night Tampa at @emo_night_tampa on Instagram.
