A presence on BillboardMainstream Rock Songs’ streaming chart since the early 2000s, Shinedown breaks the record for most No.1s in nearly 40 years of chart history.
The Florida band’s latest single, “Atlas Falls,” climbs 2-1 to No. 16 Shinedown on the August 22 chart.
Led by vocalist Brent Smith, along with Eric Bass, Barry Kerch and Zach Myers, Shinedown takes sole control of the largest number of No.1s in the archives of the Three Days Grace tally, which was first mapped under four months after Shinedown’s first appearance; Shinedown arrived with “Fly From the Inside” on the April 19, 2003 chart, while TDG followed with “(I Hate) Everything About You” on the August 2, 2003 list.
Three Days Grace had recaptured the mark for the most No.1s in September 2018, when “Infra-Red” became its 14th leader, overtaking Van Halen’s booty.

“Atlas Falls” was released in 2020 after initially being recorded during the band’s 2012 album sessions. Amaryllis. Prior to his arrival on streaming DSPs, he debuted as part of a t-shirt set that raised money for COVID-19 relief through Direct Relief.

The success of this song would never have been achieved without the audience, the fans, the family, the people. A song written and recorded eight years ago found its voice in 2020 in the midst of a global pandemic as a symbol of optimism, courage and human spirit.

Shinedown now has six No.1s in a row, dating four weeks with frontman “How Did You Love” in March 2017.
Simultaneously, “Atlas Falls” reached its 11th place in the Rock Airplay ranking based on the all-rock format, with 3.8 million audience impressions, up 7%, according to Nielsen Music / MRC Data.
Two years after the release of Shinedown’s last album, 2018’s Warning warning, Smith and guitarist Myers will be relaunching the Smith & Myers duo this week with a new song, “Not Mad Enough”, as well as a cover of Neil Young’s “Rockin ‘in the Free World” on August 21, followed by the first duo full album (after two acoustic EPs in 2014), due in October on Atlantic Records.
